About ArtSea

My conviction to build ArtSea stems from a strong belief in its potential and my technical ability to create the core product. I see a clear path to creating a platform that genuinely serves artists and users in a fairer, more transparent way. While I am driving the initial product development and business strategy, I am also keenly aware that building a successful, scalable company requires more than just technical execution. I recognize I don't yet have deep firsthand experience in navigating the complexities of the startup world, such as rapidly scaling a user base, refining go-to-market strategies, or avoiding common early-stage pitfalls.

This understanding is precisely why programs like Y Combinator are so compelling. I view such opportunities as unparalleled for immersing myself in an environment rich with knowledge, benefiting from mentorship from industry experts who have built impactful companies, and connecting with a network of peers. My primary goal is to learn how to build ArtSea into a much better product, much faster, and to make the critical decisions that will lead to sustainable growth while avoiding key mistakes. I am eager to be teachable, fully participate, and leverage all available resources to transform ArtSea from a promising MVP into a significant and lasting media powerhouse.

As an artist myself, selling pottery and 3D art, I've experienced firsthand the immense challenge of managing a fragmented online presence. This often involves juggling multiple platforms for showcasing, selling, and engaging, all while trying to find time to actually create. This isn't just my story; many fellow artists I know share this desire to focus more on their art and less on constant, disjointed platform management. My background in data science and analytics has provided me with a strong technical foundation. Witnessing these challenges, I saw an opportunity to apply my technical proficiency to build a dedicated solution: a platform designed from the ground up to genuinely support artists.

ArtSea is being built as a new social media platform designed to fundamentally rebalance the relationship between creators, users, and the platform itself. We are creating a mobile-first application and a supporting web presence that prioritizes fair monetization for artists, transparent content control for users, and robust data privacy.

For Creators:

• Direct Monetization Tools: Enabling artists to sell digital and physical art, offer exclusive content, or receive direct support seamlessly from their ArtSea pages, with significantly better revenue shares.
• Multi-Component Post System: A flexible studio to craft rich posts combining images, text, and eventually other media types.
• Control and IP Protection: Tools and clear policies to help creators manage their work and protect it from unauthorized AI training and infringement.
• Community Building: Features to create and manage dedicated communities around their art or specific themes.

For Users:

• Full Feed Control & Transparency: Explicit controls to customize content discovery based on interests, follows, and content types, with clear explanations—moving away from "black-box" algorithms. Users will be able to save and share feed settings.
• Data Privacy & Ethical AI Use: A commitment to user data ownership. Personal data will not be sold, and its use for internal AI applications will require explicit, informed consent.

Ultimately, ArtSea will be the central hub for creators to manage their entire artistic presence and business, fostering a transparent, secure, and economically viable space for all.
